Synopsis: The film revolves around a clownfish named Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks), who for a clown fish isnt very funny. Marlin lives in the Australian Great Barrier reef with his son, Nemo (voiced by Alexander Gould). Marlin is a single parent and is over protective of his son Nemo.

On his first day of of school defying his father Nemo tries to touch a boat to showing off to his schoolmates, when he is suddenly scooped up by a diver as Marlin helplessly watches.

Marlin tries to follow the boat in search of his son. As he passes a school of fish he bumps into Dory, an wierd blue tang with severe short-term memory loss, who offers to help.
