The Manchurian Candidate Review
Synopsis: Denzel Washington and Liev Schreiber play two U.S. soldiers who are brainwashed during the first Gulf War. They return home as heroes, though Ben Marco (Washington) is troubled by dreams and vague memories of horrific events. Marco spends his days giving inspiring speeches about his platoon’s ambush in the Kuwaiti desert and the heroics of Sergeant Raymond Shaw, who won the Medal of Honor for saving Marco’s crew.
Eventually, Marco remembers what has happened to him and tries to get Raymond Shaw (Schreiber), who is running for Vice President, to believe in the conspiracy. |
