Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit Review
Synopsis: There's nothing hare-brained about the humor in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
The lovable duo - daft cheese aficionado Wallace and his loyal, mute mutt Gromit - have veggie-centered adventures replete with cheeky laughs, idiosyncratic characters and clever plays on words.
Though the eccentric pair is known to many from the Oscar-winning comic shorts Creature Comforts and The Wrong Trousers, this is Wallace and Gromit's first full-length feature.
Gromit clearly is the brainier of the two, and much of the humor centers on his expressive reactions to Wallace's antics. Wallace is, by turns, an imaginative inventor and thick as a brick.
As the annual Giant Vegetable Competition approaches, it's "veggie-mania" in Wallace & Gromit's neighborhood. The two enterprising chums have been cashing in with their pest-control outfit, "Anti-Pesto," which humanely dispatches the rabbits that try to invade the town's sacred gardens... |
